Tread (the part that comes into direct contact with the road)

     The thick rubber layer provides an interface between the tread and the pavement. Wear-resistant rubber can protect the carcass and belt fracture and impact, extend the driving life.

Shoulder (tire shoulder)

     The shoulder is located between the tread and the sidewall, and the shoulder rubber is the thickest. Therefore, the design must allow the heat generated by the tire during travel to spread easily.


     This part is located between the shoulder and the bead, the tire side with good flexibility to protect the carcass, and enhance the driving experience. The tire type, size, structure, model, production company, product name, and various features will be described herein.

Bead (the portion directly contacting the rim)

     The bead attaches the tire to the rim and covers the curtain at the interface. The bead consists of a bead wire, a bead, a chafer, and other parts. The bead design is generally able to compact the bead around the rim, and to ensure that if the air pressure suddenly expanded, the tire will not be out of the rim.

Carcass (tire structure)

     As the most important structure of the tire, the entire inner layer is called the carcass. The main role of the matrix is to maintain air pressure, vertical load while absorbing vibration.

A buffer layer or a belt layer (between the tread and the carcass)

     The cushion layer is a ply between the tread and the carcass to protect the carcass of the bias tire. The buffer layer reduces vibration, prevents breakage or prevents damage directly to the tread from the carcass, while also preventing breakage between the rubber layer and the carcass.

Belt layer

     Is a reinforcing layer between the tread and the carcass of a radial tire or a belt bias tire. Its function is similar to the buffer layer, by tightly wrapped carcass, in order to increase the rigidity of the tread.

Internal lining

     The inner lining is made of a layer of rubber which prevents the gas from spreading and replaces the tire inner tube. The inner liner is generally composed of a variety of rubbers called synthetic rubbers of butyl rubber or polyisoprene, which retain the gas inside the tire.
